Writing
Some truths aren't discovered while we're living them. They're discovered when we finally have the words to reflect on them.
Reflection Uncovers Truth
That's one of the reasons I write. Understanding rarely arrives in the moment. More often, it grows through reflection—when we begin to notice patterns, name experiences, and see our stories more clearly.
Through essays that draw together developmental psychology, Christian theology, and lived experience, I hope to help readers better understand themselves, their relationships, and the God who meets us in the middle of becoming.
The Middle of Becoming
The Middle of Becoming is my primary writing project. It grew out of a simple conviction: The experiences that shape us most are rarely dramatic. They're often the quiet, ordinary seasons where we're slowly becoming someone new.
Through essays on faith, identity, calling, friendship, grief, and emerging adulthood, I explore how God forms us in those ordinary seasons. My hope is not simply to offer answers, but to help readers recognize that even seasons of uncertainty can become places of profound formation.
If you've ever wondered whether you're behind, questioned your calling, struggled to find community, or wrestled with what God is doing in your life, these essays were written with you in mind.

While The Middle of Becoming explores the deeper questions of faith and formation, these articles focus on practical guidance grounded in current research.
Drawing from developmental psychology, attachment theory, and counseling research, I write to help emerging adults—and the people who care about them—navigate the challenges of early adulthood with greater understanding and confidence.

Why I Continue To Write
Writing allows me to continue conversations that begin in counseling rooms, classrooms, and churches. Some ideas need more space than a counseling session allows. Some questions deserve more reflection than a Sunday morning can provide.
Writing creates that space.
It gives us room to slow down, notice what might otherwise be missed, and discover meaning that often only becomes clear with time. My hope isn't simply that readers learn something new.
It's that they understand themselves more deeply, recognize God's presence more clearly, and find hope for the season they're living through. Because I believe the path toward becoming begins with understanding who we are.
